Is Evelyn Walking Yet?

While I was at gymnastics with Eden on February 13th Cameron and some friends bribed Evelyn with marshmallows to see if they could get her to walk. Ryan videoed it and believe it or not, she did it! And I missed it! I was a little jealous.

Of course it still took another three weeks or so for her to really want to walk on her own. She was about 14 months old when she finally started walking for good.

Snow Hooky

For the month of January Dallin spent every Saturday up at Sundance snowboarding. He road up on a bus with his two buddies Nathan and Trevor at 8 am and got home around 4 pm. They had a two hour class and then were given a lift ticket for the rest of the day. He loved it! I wish I could have gotten some pictures of it.

For Christmas we also got Eden a pair of skis. Ryan took her to Sundance a couple of times to master the bunny hill. Then on February 13 he took Dallin and Eden out of school to ski and snowboard all day as part of a Novell day at Sundance. Once again he managed to get free lift tickets. That guy amazes me.

Anyway, they had a blast. It had recently snowed and there was a ton of fresh powder. At one point Eden and Ryan spent 30 min getting out of the powder. Eden was crying and said she was ready to go home but then when they got to the bottom of the mountain she said she wasn't ready to stop and they skied for another hour! The girl is a hard core. Even more amazing is she went to her gymnastics class that afternoon!

Ryan got some video of the kids skiing and snowboarding but he said they were having too much fun for him to get any more pictures.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

On February 9, 10, and 11th Dallin, Cameron, and Eden all performed in the Youth Theater production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Dallin was Grandpa George (the quieter, yet still grouchy Grandpa), Cameron was a friend of Charlie's with several lines and her own small solo part, and Eden was an absolutely adorable Oompa Loompa. It was a wonderful performance!

Dallin as Grandpa George

Cameron as an Oompa Loompa too

The costumes were so fun and colorful

I think the best part for the kids, though, are all the family and friends that come to watch! Thank you so much to all those that came!

The girls had to have a picture with the young man who played Willy Wonka. I can't imagine why?

Cameron's Science Fair Project

Cameron's science fair project this year was on how talking on a cell phone while trying to concentrate can be affected by distractions. And if it helps to use a wireless earpiece or if it helps if you are younger or older.

It wasn't super conclusive but it did seem that teenagers were more easily distracted than adults but the most interesting thing was that the earpiece didn't really seem to make a difference. It was the distractions that proved most harmful to everyone while talking on a cell phone and trying to concentrate. It was a good thing for me to see. My personal conclusion is that I shouldn't talk on the phone while I'm driving.

Pictures from February 8, 2012

I realize I am super behind on my blog. In an attempt to get caught up I'm afraid many of the next posts will not get all the attention they may originally have. I also just can't seem to remember everything which is unfortunate because there has been so much going on this winter and Evelyn is changing so much every day.
