Story Time

I was busy one morning, making bread, when I realized I hadn't heard from Evelyn in a while. I went upstairs to check on her and found her on the floor in our extra bedroom reading to her baby doll. The girl is so adorable I can hardly stand it.

Valentine's Day

I just had Ryan upload the pictures on my phone and found these cute ones from Valentine's Day. I got to help Eden's class with their party. My station decorated heart shaped cookies. (I quickly baked some gluten free ones for Eden, Austin and Evelyn that morning).

Another station had the kids blow up balloons and let them fly, trying to get them to land on a certain heart for points.

One more station had the kids trying to pick candy hearts with chop sticks. It was all a lot of fun.

Here's what I posted to Facebook that morning:

My 6 year old came up this morning complaining about the stuff hanging in front of his door and how he got all tangled up in it. (Ryan and I were up until midnight hanging streamers and hearts from each of the kids bedroom doors). The 6 year old continued to complain about it while eating his homemade heart shaped waffles for breakfast until my 8 year old said, "be quiet Austin, you're ruining my Valentine's Day". Thanks Eden for appreciating your parents' hard work.

Babes In Toyland

Dallin and Cameron performed in Babes In Toyland from March 27-30th for the local children's theater. Dallin was Tom Tom and Cameron was part of the chorus singing and dancing with several costume changes.

She was a villager.

And a gypsy.

At first I didn't recognize Dallin when he came out as Floretta the Gypsy and started singing. He used a high pitch squeaky voice and danced around. Once I realized it was him I couldn't believe it was my own son. He said he hated this scene but it was my favorite out of the whole show.

He was a very handsome Tom Tom.

The Children's Theater always has such cool effects.

Cameron was also a spider.

Evelyn loved the show and saw it twice but had a hard time sitting still. Somehow between running through the seats and doing somersaults in the aisle she saw the whole thing and told us all her favorite scenes, which included the butterflies and Dallin dancing.

Toyland

Cameron's last character was a ballerina.

The young man that played Barnaby is an amazing actor. He did a great job.

We all loved the show!

Science Fair

Dallin is in Honors Science this year and so he was required to submit a science fair project that would be good enough for the district competition. Well, it was not only good enough for district but it was also good enough for the BYU competition. He had a great time spending the day at BYU on March 20th. He was nominated for two awards by some of the judges: The Originality Award, and The US Navy/Marine Corps Award.

Unfortunately we went to the awards night and the same kids won all the awards but it was so exciting to have him do so well and get recognized for all his hard work!

Gymnastics Meet

On March 16th Eden and I went to the U of U Women's Gymnastics last home meet with her friend Halley and her mom Tiffany. This time we got there in time to see the whole meet. It was so fun and exciting. Both teams were really good but the U of U won again! They're awesome. And I had so much fun with my little gymnast.

Torture

Oh the misery of going to the dentist! But we go, every six months, and make sure those pearly whites stay just that, pearly and white! And so far so good, this time we had all four kids cavity free! Now if we can just get mom to go. :(

Cameron's Spring Concert

Cameron had her spring concert on March 6th. She's improved so much with her violin. I'm really impressed. The whole 7th grade orchestra in fact has really done well this year. There are quite a few of them and they sound great!

Cameron has a lot of friends in orchestra. They call themselves orcha dorks. But they're really very cute.

You might notice that I skipped about a month of pictures and activities. That's because I had a second surgery two weeks after the hernia surgery. After all those kids there's a lot of fixin' I need. But there aren't going to be any more kids and I'm feeling much better.

And I spent quite a bit of time during those recovery weeks learning about Natural Yeast and making bread. But of course, you already know all about that.

Into The Woods

On February 7,8, and 9th Dallin and Cameron performed in Into The Woods for the local children's theater.
Cameron was Little Red Riding Hood and Dallin was The Big Bad Wolf. At the beginning of the first performance my mom leaned over and whispered "can Cameron sing?" I shrugged my shoulders. The kids were very sneaky about practicing in their rooms so we couldn't hear them.

So it was a wonderful surprise to hear Cameron sing so beautifully and then my heart just melted when Dallin and Cameron performed a duet together! It was so cute and fun and I felt so proud of them!

This was their duet. They sang and danced together. I get all choked up just thinking about it.

Dallin's makeup got more elaborate with each performance.

We really appreciate all the friends and family that came out to support them!
