Peter

The first week back to school in January Eden was spot lighted in her class. She needed to put together a book about all of her favorite things. She wrote about how much she loves to do gymnastics and spend time with her many best friends. We also collected a few pictures. One of them is of her favorite (and only) pet Peter.

Peter's grown into a full size cat. He's got a full winter coat and it's super soft. But since he doesn't like to be held or pet or given attention in any way it's hard to enjoy how soft he is. The only time we can take full advantage of petting our cat is when he's begging for Fancy Feast (at dinnertime every night and we're all too busy to pet him then) or when he wants to be let outside. Sometimes I make him really beg before I let him out just so I can pet him once or twice. He's a very independent, hands off cat. Except when the kids are sleeping. Then he can often be found asleep as well, on their feet, at the end of their beds, in their open clothes drawers (why they never shut those I'll never understand) or sometimes in their actual beds if it's a really cold night. And finally on very rare occasions he will actually come climb up on our laps. But that is most often when we are sitting down enjoying a bowl of ice cream, his favorite.
