Trick or Treat!

On Saturday Ryan took the kids trick-or-treating.  It had been raining all day so they went around 5 pm when there was a break in the clouds.  As I was getting dinner ready I heard this strange hushing sound outside.  I stopped to listen carefully and all of the sudden there was a large boom of thunder and then it started hailing, sideways!   I thought, "Oh No!  My kids are out in that!"  As I was trying to think where I should drive to pick them up Ryan called and said they had ducked into a  neighbors house where they were waiting for me to come get them.  I picked up my slightly soaked family and fed them a nice warm dinner.  Then, since the rain stopped, they went out again!  When they were done they came knocking on my door.  So cute!

Then Ryan drove them to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a little more candy collecting.

We didn't get nearly as many trick-or-treaters as we have in the past.  By the end of the night I still had a full bowl of candy.  I filled three Ziploc bags the next day and set it in my pantry.  But then I realized that since the  kids had their own bags of candy those three extra bags were going to taunt only one person.  Me!  So the next day I took all three bags to the school with me and donated them.  The last thing I need with two months to go in my pregnancy is to put on all the extra weight I've been carefully avoiding for the last seven months!

Makes me wish I were a kid again. Actually lots of things make me feel like that.
