California Vacation

On March 6th we left at 5:45 am for our California Vacation! Woohoo. We promised the kids after Ryan got his MBA that we would take them to Disneyland. It's been four years since we've been to California and we were all excited. I thought for sure the kids would go back to sleep but as you can see, they were too excited. If it weren't for the in car DVD player they would have been bouncing off the seats.

About twenty minutes into the drive Austin asked if we were at Disneyland yet. It was a long drive. He kept saying, "First, we're going to Disneyland and then we're going to the beach!" We had to make it very clear that we were going to Aunt Debbie's first and Disneyland on Monday.

Ryan is a die hard when it comes to driving to California. We don't stop for anything. We had breakfast and lunch in the car. I felt like I was constantly turning around to hand back treats and drinks. But we made it to his sister's house in 9 hours!

Not only did Deb and Stu have us and our four kids spending the night but they also invited over family and friends that we don't get to see very often for an amazing dinner!

Ryan was thrilled to get to see his college friend Ryan Tippets and finally get to meet his beautiful children.

I guess Tippets is a little vertically challenged. I didn't notice. He's taller than me.

We were also excited to get to see Dave (Ryan's cousin) and his wife Christy and get to meet their beautiful little boy Carter. Ryan's Aunt Linda and Uncle Frank were there along with his other cousin and really good friend Brandon and his family. It was a great night but by 9:30 pm we were starting to feel the effects of the long drive and the time change. Day 1 down.

Dad-I was actually hoping to get the whole trip up right away but I've been a little short on time lately. I can't say I'm organized enough to put up one new post a day.
