15 Years to Celebrate, Day 2

In the morning we took a boat tour of the Black Canyon starting at the Morrow Point Damn. We had to hike about a mile to get to the boat launch.

Ryan loves taking pictures of the wildlife. I've left quite a few out but couldn't resist this bee because I've never seen a red bee before.

The boat tour was really interesting and the view of the canyon was spectacular. I don't think our pictures do it justice.

This waterfall is normally very full but it's been a really dry summer in Colorado. They had a lot of wildfires as did Utah. We've been living with smoke and ash for months.

This is where the Colorado river joins with the water from the Black Canyon. It is also about where our boat turned around.

There used to be a train that ran down the bottom of the canyon but as the river rose the tracks eventually got swallowed up. This spike is a remnant of that track.

When the boat tour was over we got lunch in Montrose and then headed to Ouray.
